PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION
The Planning Commission has nine members. One member is appointed by the council. One member is appointed by the Board of Works. Five members are citizen members appointed by the Mayor of whom, no more than three may be of the same political party. All five of these citizen members must live within the encorporated area of Peru. Two members are appointed by County Commissioners that must live outside the encorporated area and must be of two different political parties. This commission shall have the powers and duties outlined in the Indiana Code. Members are subject to a four year term.
