Youth Council

The Mayor’s Youth Council is a council comprised of youth in the City of Peru, in grades 7-12, that meet to discuss areas of concern regarding the youth of our community.

The Council meets once a month, during the school day. They devise plans to address their areas of concern and implement the process to complete those plans.

Application for 2007-2008 School Year

The council is designed to give the youth a forum in which to present their ideas and concerns to the mayor, as well as to assist with community projects directly involving them. The group meets monthly and is currently working on several projects which they are taking to the public.

All students who live in the corporate limits of Peru within the 7th to 12th grades will be given the opportunity to apply to be on the council each fall after school returns to session.
