Street Department |
Bill McQueen is the Street Department Supervisor. He has worked for the City of Peru for 30 years. The Street Department consists of 24 employees.
The Street Department maintains the City's streets and alleys. The department's specific functions include street resurfacing, repair and construction, snow removal, street sweeping, leaf collection and removal of trees in the tree lawn.

| Garbage containers are to be no larger than 33 gallons
and weigh no more than 50 lbs. They must be placed within 5ft. of
alley or in the tree lawn for setouts. Garbage racks are required except for setouts and must be at least 8 inches off the ground. |
Building materials will only be picked up for homeowners that do the work themselves. We do not haul for contractors or contracted work without a truck rental fee. All material must be cut to 4ft. lengths and neatly stacked within 5 ft. of alley or in tree lawn for setouts. Roofing must be in containers weighing less than 50 lbs. | Brush needs to be cut into 4ft. lengths and weigh less than 50 lbs. We do not haul for contractors or contracted work - it must be cut by homeowners. |
