Street Department |
Bill McQueen is the Street Department Supervisor. He has worked for the City of Peru for 36 years. The Street Department consists of 22 employees.
The Street Department maintains the City's streets and alleys. The department's specific functions include street resurfacing, repair and construction, snow removal, street sweeping, leaf collection and removal of trees in the tree lawn.

| Garbage containers are to be no larger than 33 gallons
and weigh no more than 50 lbs. They must be placed within 5ft. of
alley or in the tree lawn for setouts. Garbage racks are required except for setouts and must be at least 8 inches off the ground. |
The Street Department does not pick up building materials except by truck rental. Truck rental fee is $150.00 per load, allowing 3 calendar days to load debris. Call 472-2501 to schedule a truck rental. | Brush needs to be cut into 4ft. lengths and weigh less than 50 lbs. We do not haul for contractors or contracted work - it must be cut by homeowners. |
