Building Permits & Procedures
For Minor Remodeling in an Existing Structure including Electrical or Roofing:
*Complete the appropriate application found in documents. The application must be reviewed & approved by the Building Commissioner PRIOR to the start of work.
For an Addition to an Existing Structure, or New Construction:
*Complete the appropriate application found in document to include:
-a plot drawing showing lot dimensions,
-placement and dimensions of all buildings existing on the lot dimensions
-placement of proposed addition
-Show clearance from buildings to all lot lines.
*Application and attachments will be reviewed by Zoning Administrator and the Building Commissioner. The application must be reviewed & approved PRIOR to the start of work.
*For COMMERCIAL NEW BUILDS, include state design release, Rule 5, and Floodplain requirements as well.
THREE copies must be delivered to our office for review.
COMMERCIAL PERMIT APPLICATIONS & FEES
A Commercial Property includes any structure more than a two-family dwelling. A Commercial Permit is required for any new structure, accessory building, addition, electrical, roofing, plumbing or HVAC work being performed on a Commercial Property.
An applicable ZONING FEE will be added for improvement location permits.
- Commercial Building Permit (New/Renovate)
- Roofing Permit
- Electrical Upgrade or New Service
- Change of Use / Change of Occupancy
RESIDENTIAL PERMIT APPLICATIONS & FEES
A Residential Property includes one and two family dwellings, modular/manufactured homes and duplex units. A Residential Permit is required for any new structure, accessory building, addition, electrical, roofing, plumbing or HVAC work being performed on a Residential Property.
An applicable ZONING FEE will be added for improvement location permits.
